Welcome to Abbott's TaeKwonDo America!

We'd like to welcome you to Abbott's TaeKwonDo America!

As a student at Abbott's Taekwondo America (Abbott's), you are also a member of Taekwondo America (TA). At Abbott's, we strive to provide a professional environment, where students and their families feel welcome. So although you may be the only one taking class as a student, you and your family are all considered members of Abbott's. As members, you are all subject to the rules and regulations while in the school, or at any Abbott's/TA event. Many aspects of a quality martial arts program can only be learned in time, and we understand that this will be a learning process for both you and your family. The letter to the right will help answer some of your questions. Please don't hesitate to ask about things not covered or any other concerns that may arise.

  • Blacksburg Testing Schedule

    This Saturday the 4th of February in BLACKSBURG we will NOT BE HAVING A NORMAL CLASS SCHEDULE!!! Instead we will be having Testing Prep Classes.

    9am White - Sr. Blue Juniors
    10am Brown - Black Juniors
    11am White - Sr. Blue Adults
    12pm Brown - Black Adults

    Please make sure you bring all your gear. This will be a very good practice before your testing, lots of one on one attention from the instructors. Please take advantage of this. Hope to see all you guys this Saturday.


    The Blacksburg February Testing Times will be as follows:

    Monday Feb. 6th 6:00pm - Family Testing. This testing day is for Family Membership persons and our Little Dragons. No Classes.

    Wednesday Feb. 8th 6:00pm - All White Through Sr. Blue Juniors. No Classes
    Wednesday Feb. 8th 7:30pm - All White Through Sr. Blue Adults. No Classes

    Friday Feb. 10th 6:00pm - All Brown Through All Black Juniors. No Classes
    Friday Feb. 10th 7:30pm - All Brown Through All Black Adults. No Classes

    Wednesday Feb. 15th 6:00pm - Award Ceremony - The award ceremony will be a PLAIN CLOTHES event and also a pot luck dinner. Sign up sheets will be on the front counter. No Classes.

    9am All White – Senior Green Belts
    10am All Purple – Senior Red Belts
    11am All Black Belts

    The Roanoke February Testing Times will be as follows:

    Wednesday Feb. 8th 6:00pm: Family Testing. This testing is for family membership persons and our Little Dragons ONLY. You must be pre-registered. NO CLASSES.

    Thursday Feb. 9th 6:00pm: ALL WHITE THROUGH SR. BLUE JUNIORS. NO CLASSES
    Thursday Feb. 9th 7:30pm: ALL WHITE THROUGH SR. BLUE TEEN/ADULTS. NO CLASSES

    Friday Feb. 10th 6:00pm: ALL BROWN THROUGH ALL BLACK JUNIORS. NO CLASSES
    Friday Feb. 10th 7:30pm: ALL BROWN THROUGH ALL BLACK TEEN/ADULTS. NO CLASSES

    Saturday Feb. 11th 4:00pm: Award Ceremony and Valentines Day Parents Night Out!! $15 per child from 5pm to 11pm.

    Signing up is easy. At the front counter we have the testing sign up sheets that you fill out completely and leave for us in the bin located on the same counter. You can also download this sign up sheet from Kicksite. All students must be signed up and have paid for testing by Friday the 3rd of February.

    We are offering private lessons for you or your child. You can choose from available instructors. The cost is $15 for 15 minutes ($30 for 30 minutes), paid directly to the instructor. Mr. Abbott is also available for private lessons. Please contact him directly for availability and pricing.

  • Inclement Weather Rule

    Attention Parents and Students

    This website will be the final word on all weather closings! If there is any chance for inclement weather (ice, snow, warnings, watches, etc) - check here or call the TKD school for details. Any complaints or concerns, please direct to Mr. Abbott.

  • IMPORTANT Parking Information

    Blacksburg

    Please DO NOT park on the other side of the parking lot - it is for customers of that building ONLY (Mr. Frith's Law Office and Mr. Smith's Acupuncture office) and they will be towing. Also, please refrain from parking at Companion Animal Clinic during their business hours (which includes Saturdays). We know that parking can, at times, be an issue and we are working to find a solution.

    Roanoke

    Abbott's Taekwondo must use its own lot for parking. The hair salon next door, Blades does not hesitate to tow your car. Even when they are closed, they tow. They have a towing service that monitors the lot 24 hours a day. Let me say it again, "Don't park there…ever…not even for a second." The drycleaner next door has never said anything to us about overflow parking. He is a very nice man. Take him all your dry cleaning, we like him.

TaeKwonDo America (TA) is a national organization with member schools across the United States which adhere to the same guidelines and procedures. These principals designate the standards by which we teach, promote students in rank, and project our image and reputation within the community.

The TA National Board of Examiners has developed and certified a comprehensive training and fitness program for our students to follow. This enables children and adults to progress at their own pace and ensures that we are able to meet the needs of all students.

Over the years, TA has established a reputation built upon our standard of excellence. Accordingly, we do not allow any negative, aggressive behavior, or any misuse of TaeKwonDo in any manner is strongly discouraged

Abbott's TaeKwonDo America competes exclusively in tournaments sponsored by our national organization. TA sponsors several regional and national tournaments throughout the year and invites all enrolled students to participate in these events.

At Abbott's TaeKwonDo America our goal is to provide the finest fitness training available and to help our students build character and become healthier, more productive individuals.

Our philosophy is to provide a positive, rewarding, and stimulating physical fitness regimen for children and adults. We promote a healthy lifestyle in a safe, fun, family-oriented environment.
