Meet Our Instructors...

Mr. Abbott is a 4th Degree Senior Black Belt in TaeKwonDo and has been studying the art form for over 20 years. Nineteen years of that time has been spent teaching others the art of TaeKwonDo. He and his wife opened the Blacksburg location of TaeKwonDo America on November 5th, 2003 and with the help of their students, hope to make it the best school in the organization.

Mrs. Abbott is now a 2nd Degree Decided Black Belt, a Certified Instructor and the program coordinator for the school. Simply put; she keeps Mr. Abbott on task and on time. She is also the head of the Cardio-Kickboxing Program and mother of the One-Day-Black-Belts William and Emily.

Alex is a 2nd degree Senior Black Belt and passed his Instructor trainee test in October and is the first teenager to receive that rank at Abbott's TaeKwonDo America. Alex has been assisting in classes for the past 3 years and now has reached the rank of instructor. Congratulations Alex.

Christopher is a Junior Certified Instructor at Abbott's and is now Nationally Accredited as such. He just received his 3rd degree black belt at the September 2009 Nationals and looked great. Make sure to congratulate him on this achievement when you see him.

Cassidy is a 3rd degree Black Belt and is a Junior Certified. She is an accomplished member of the demo team and a superb tournament competitor. We expect great things from her here at Abbott's!

Marshall is a 2nd degree senior black belt and instructor trainee here at the school. He also just got his learner's permit...scary.

Jasmine is a 2nd degree Decided Black Belt and is an Instructor trainee as of August testing She has already jumped in head first in teaching and has done an outstanding job!

Niyousha is a 2nd degree Decided Black Belt and just received her Instructor trainee stripe in December. Niyousha is also a member of the demo team and is looking forward to teaching! Way to go Niyousha! We are so proud of you!

Jason is a 2nd Degree Black Belt and Certified Instructor. Jason has been training in TaeKwonDo since 2005 and teaching for over a year now. He graduated from Radford Universtiy with a Minor in Martial Arts. In addition to teaching, he helps run the Demo Team.

Simon is a 2nd degree Black Belt and Instructor Trainee.
